North American immigrants who had at some time been employees of
their former organization. According to some estimates, over 250
ex-employees of Pakistan Steel are now landed immigrants or
citizens of Canada or the US formed an association.
It
is basically a non-profit association set up to benefit all
ex-employees of Paksteel who have immigrated to Canada and the
US.
The aims and objectives include welfare projects like help in
re-settling new immigrants, guidance in furthering their
education and skills so that they can obtain reasonable
employment in the new country.
Providing networking with the object of assisting in
professional development, career opportunities and
organization of social events.
Encouraging and recognizing educational and professional
excellence among ex-employees of Paksteel and their children
who have made some outstanding achievement in any discipline.
Providing a platform for social interaction and sharing of
information and resources for the mutual benefit of the
associate members.
Providing funds (Qarz-e-hasna) to the members for events like
children's marriage etc.
In
case of death of any associate member, the association will
assist in funeral expenses.
